Get on your bike, board or scooter | Competition returning to Millicent

1 April 2019

Get on your BMX, skateboard or scooter and start practicing for the second Millicent Skate Park competition event set for this October.
“It’s with great excitement that we are announcing the second Millicent Skate Park competition in conjunction with the YMCA Action Sports Skate Park League’s national program,” Wattle Range Council Mayor, Des Noll revealed.

The 2019 event will be held on Saturday 12th October, the last Saturday of the October school holidays, at the Millicent Skate Park.

As with last year, a training event will also be conducted on the Friday (11 October) at the Millicent Civic & Arts Centre. The training will provide participants with an insight into how to conduct a successful event. It will cover topics such as judging, officiating, OH&S, event management and marketing. This is a unique opportunity for locals to be trained by the best.

The initial event was held in October 2018 and over 500 participants and spectators, both male and female, covering various age categories, enjoyed a spectacular day of competition.

“Council is looking forward to working with YMCA Action Sports to bring this event back to our local community and making it bigger and better than last year,” said Mayor Noll.
