The initial stage of a review of kerbside waste collections is underway, with selected residents and ratepayers receiving correspondence from Council regarding their service.
Residents who do not currently receive a kerbside collection, but are adjacent to those that do or within close proximity will be offered a new Council service. The cost of a Council collection is significantly less than a private arrangement, offering a saving to residents.
Several smaller townships including Coonawarra, Rendelsham and Hatherleigh have underutilised the kerbside green waste collection and Council has written to these landholders suggesting that this service be replaced with a 2 bin service, resulting in a cost saving to residents.
These residents are asked to complete and return the form in the pre-paid envelope provided with their letter.
Residents who do not receive a letter from Council are also welcome to submit their views in writing by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by post to Wattle Range Council, PO Box 27, Millicent SA 5280.
The closing date for submissions is Monday, 27 March 2017 at 9 am.
