Construction of a new verandah at the Kalangadoo Community Sports Club is well underway. Wattle Range Council Mayor Peter Gandolfi recently inspected the progress of the verandah at the club.
Mayor Gandolfi said Council has provided $15,000 in financial support which is matched by the significant labour contribution provided by the Club to build the verandah.
“I’m pleased that Council was able to assist the Club in building the new verandah,” Mr Gandolfi said. “Council recognises the importance of sport and recreation organisations in our communities that promote and support active lifestyles.”
He also congratulated and thanked the many volunteers involved in the club for their contribution.
The much needed verandah is being constructed by club and community members under the expert supervision of qualified building supervisor Ben Opie. It will provide shelter for Club patrons and protect the building from the weather through the winter months.
