The hardwork and dedication of the Gladys Smith Early Learning Centre management and staff has been recognised with an impressive rating achieved in their most recent National Quality Standards (NQS) audit, a key aspect of the National Quality Framework (NQF).
The Centre received an overall rating of ‘Exceeding National Quality Standard’ in the industry’s new rigorous assessment and rating process.
The Framework is designed to give children the best possible start in life, a national system aimed at providing transparency and accountability in early childhood care.
The Quality Standards sets a national benchmark, and is assessed over seven Quality Areas including:
“The ‘Exceeding’ rating is a credit to Co-Directors, Clara Walker and Sarah Murby and every one of the educators and staff at the Centre,” said Mayor Peter Gandolfi.
“It is a reflection of their commitment and dedication. Their passion and belief in the importance of providing the best possible learning outcomes for all children is evident in this result.”
Co-director, Clara Walker also praised the efforts of the staff. “We are thrilled with the rating” Mrs Walker said. “The Centre has undertaken previous assessments and has always achieved a ‘High Quality’ rating, but as this is a new format and the bar continues to be raised, we are pleased once again to exceed the required standards.”
