Cycling fever is set to hit Penola on Friday, 12 August, with Penola hosting Stage four of the 2016 Tour of the Great South Coast Road Cycling Classic.
“This is the first time that Wattle Range Council has been involved in the Tour and I am hopeful that there will be a large turnout of residents and visitors to witness the Penola stage” Mayor Peter Gandolfi said.
Stage 4 of the Event will include 30 laps of a 1.3km circuit in the vicinity of Penola Primary School and Child Care Centre. The race commences at 10.30am and will finish at approximately 11.30am.
The 2016 Tour of the Great South Coast Road Cycling Classic commences on 10 August in Mount Gambier, South Australia and ends in Portland, Victoria on 14 August 2016.
To facilitate this stage the following roads will be closed from 9.00am to 12.00noon on 12 August 2016:
Letters will be sent to all residents who will be affected by the road closures with Council contact details if residents have any concerns.
