Canteen facilities return to the Millicent Saleyards

16 February 2017

Patrons of the Millicent Stock Saleyards were excited to see the return of a canteen facility at the fortnightly cattle sale held today.

The canteen has been leased to Millicent’s Junction Deli proprietor Nicole Looby-McRostie, offering a range of hot and cold menu options including egg and bacon breakfast and coffee.

The move will enable visiting agents, buyers and local producers to meet in the canteen before and after sales to discuss a host of subjects whilst enjoying locally produced food.

The Millicent Saleyards canteen has had a range of proprietors over the years, but has been vacant for a number of years.

Council’s Chief Executive Officer, Ben Gower welcomed the news, “it is great to see the return of the Saleyards canteen. We hope it encourages more people to attend the regular sales and adds value to the sale day experience” he said.
