Business operators from the Wattle Range district were among the top performers for views and leads from the States key tourism website.
The website, southaustralia.com is a ‘one stop shop’ for all tourism information regarding places to go, things to do and where to stay across the State. Operators with a listing on the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW), the national tourism operators database, are listed on the South Australian Tourism Commission site and there are currently over 650 Limestone Coast businesses registered.
A recent SA Tourism Commission report outlining consumer engagement with the site through the months of September and October last year, highlighted a number of Wattle Range tourism operators.
The Southern Ocean Tourist Park was the top performing Accommodation provider, receiving the most product leads for both months, and operators from the Coonawarra Wine region featured heavily in the Food & Drink, Tours and Events categories.
The Millicent Mega Playground was a popular attraction with site visitors and the Nangwarry Forestry and Logging Museum was high on the list for customer contact.
Council’s Director Development Services, Steve Chapple was particularly pleased to see the results. “It is great to see tourism operators reaping the rewards of the effort they are putting in to their online presence,” he said.
“A campaign by the Limestone Coast LGA to increase participation in the Tourism Data Warehouse last year was highly successful with a 115% increase in listings in 2017. We encourage all Wattle Range operators to list on the national database to grow their online exposure.”
