The rural township of Hatherleigh will be the final community in Wattle Range to collaborate with Council in the development of a plan for their future.
Council is developing ten-year Community Town Plans for each of the townships within its boundaries. These Town Plans enable each community to develop a vision for their town and take a more strategic approach to projects and initiatives over the ensuing ten years.
The community are invited to attend a public forum to gather information for the development of the Hatherleigh Community Town Plan. The public consultation meeting will be held from 6 pm to 8.30 pm on Wednesday, 20 February 2019 at the Hatherleigh Sporting Complex.
While the session will be supported by Council staff, the Plan will be developed and driven by the community. This initial meeting will help determine a Vision Statement for the township, highlight what makes Hatherleigh unique and what potential is available for the future.
Together attendees will be asked to brainstorm ideas, identify opportunities for improvement of assets and infrastructure and provide their thoughts on social and community needs for the township for the next ten years.
A light supper will be provided and for catering purposes people are asked to RSVP to Sarah Marzec, Community Development Officer on 8733 0900 or email email@example.com.
“Fourteen Community Plans have been developed with the people of Wattle Range over the past two years,” Council’s Chief Executive Officer, Ben Gower explains.
“Eleven of these plans have since been formally adopted by Council and elements of which included in both the short and long-term financial plans.
“The remaining 3 draft plans, including the Hatherleigh plan, are being completed and will be presented to Council for endorsement in the coming months,” Mr Gower says.
