Successful community forum returns

15 August 2019

Following the success of last years event Wattle Range Council will again be hosting an information forum aimed at assisting its licensed clubs and venues.

The free forum will be held between 6 and 8 pm this coming Wednesday August 21, and will give participants an insight into a number of relevant topics, as well as updates on important legislation changes.

All clubs, community groups and organisations across Wattle Range, Robe and Kingston District Councils are welcome to attend. Topics covered will include:

  • dealing with aggressive customers;
  • changes to Liquor Licensing rules (if applicable);
  • Facebook for businesses/clubs; and
  • a short session on promotion, fundraising, sponsorship & grants

Council's Director Development Services, Steve Chapple urges all clubs and venues across the three Council regions to consider coming along. “A major drawcard will be John Doran, the General Manager of Licensing at Consumer and Business Services. John will provide an update on Liquor Licensing legislation, and in particular the requirements for the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA).

“This initiative provides opportunity not only for information sharing, but a unique chance for clubs and businesses from across the three Council areas to meet and share ideas and develop strong networks. It is important that every business or club has at least one representative attend on the night,” Mr Chapple said.

To assist with seating and catering please RSVP to Sarah Marzec, Community Development Officer, Wattle Range Council by Monday, 19 August 2019 at either sarah.marzec@wattlerange.sa.gov.au or 8733 0900.
