In conjunction with the Federal and State Governments, Wattle Range Council is extremely pleased to announce the opening of the Northern Bypass at Penola.
“After many years of robust community debate and a considerable financial commitment from all three tiers of Government, it is great to see the entire Bypass finally open to traffic,” said Mayor Des Noll.
“This Bypass will take hundreds of freight trucks away from the main street of Penola every day which will improve the amenity of this much loved tourist destination, and improve safety for our local community,” he said.
Council continues to work closely with the local community to plan for a range of potential improvements to the amenity of the town through its Penola Main Street Masterplan and Placemaking Strategy.
While face to face consultation sessions have been postponed due to the Coronavirus, a community survey is currently underway to gather as many thoughts and ideas as possible from the local community.
