Wattle Range Council and the Electoral Commission of SA are working towards the election of a new Riddoch Ward Councillor.

The process to elect a new member to the Wattle Range Council has now begun.

“Following the recent resignation of Councillor Rick Paltridge, Council is required to hold a supplementary election to fill the casual vacancy for the Riddoch Ward.  We are working with the Electoral Commission of South Australia to work through the election process,” Council’s Chief Executive Officer, Ben Gower explains.

The voters roll for this supplementary election will close at 5 pm on Tuesday, 31 August 2021.

You are entitled to vote in the election if you are enrolled on the State electoral roll for the council area.  If you have already turned 18 or changed your residential or postal address, you must complete an electoral enrolment form available online at www.ecsa.sa.gov.au

If you are not eligible to enrol on the State electoral roll you may still be entitled to enrol to vote if you own or occupy property in the council area.  Contact the Council to find out how.

Nominations to fill the vacancies open on Thursday, 23 September 2021 and close 12 noon on Thursday, 7 October 2021.

The election will be conducted entirely by post with the return of ballot material to reach the Returning Officer no later than 12 noon on Monday, 15 November 2021.

A briefing session for potential nominees will be held on a date yet to be confirmed.  Interested persons will be asked to register for this session.
