Youth Week events postponed

26th March 2020

Wattle Range Council has decided to postpone most of its activities planned for Youth Week 2020.

“State and Federal Government recommendations made with regard to the Coronavirus have lead to the decision to defer most elements of our 2020 Youth Week program planned for April this year,” Council’s Director Development Services, Steve Chapple explained.

“We have decided at this stage, to continue with the 2020 Youth Recognition Awards, without the presentation night, and to continue with the Coastal Protection Sign Design competition.

“All other SA Youth Week events and activities in Wattle Range have been deferred until a later date and we thank all the collaborators for their assistance in developing the 2020 program,” Mr Chapple said.

Residents are reminded that nominations for the Youth Recognition Awards will be accepted until Monday 6 April with award winners in each of the five categories receiving $200 and an engraved glass plaque.

Entries to the Coastal Protection Sign Design Competition can be submitted by local artists and designers 12-25 years of age, until 4 pm on Tuesday, 31 March. The winning sign will be printed by Council and installed at one or more locations along the Wattle Range coastline, its designer will win $150 cash.
