Young creatives of Wattle Range will have the opportunity to win $150 cash and have their design displayed on signs to be installed along the region’s coastline.
In a competition to be held in conjunction with Youth Week 2020, Council is calling for talented young local artists and designers (12-25 years of age) to create a sign that encourages people to care for our sensitive coastal areas.
“Wattle Range Council has beautiful beaches and unique coastal environments that are sadly being damaged by visitors and residents,” Council’s Manager Assets & Environment, Lauren Oxlade explains.
“We need the help of our young people to encourage the public to protect and care for our beaches and coastal dunes. This is a unique chance to spread the word and have your design on a sign for all to see,” she said.
The winning sign will be printed by Council and installed at one or more locations along the Wattle Range coast.
Entries close on Tuesday, March 31. More details and competition entry forms are available from any of Council’s offices, the Millicent Library or online at www.wattlerange.sa.gov.au/youthweek.
