An entertaining weekend is planned for the youth of Wattle Range on the third weekend in January, with big screen movies in the Millicent Domain and giant kites at the surf beach in Beachport.

Movies in the Park will be held on Saturday January 18, in the Millicent Domain Parklands. Screening Missing Link at 5pm and Aladdin at 7.30pm. Movie goers are invited to bring a blanket or low chair and catering by local service clubs will be available.

The Beachport surf beach will be a spectacular site with approximately 20 giant kites airborne on Sunday 19th January. Including dragons, lady bugs, puppy dogs, sting rays and lots of small creatures the giant kites will be flown by the Adelaide Kite Flyers Association. The Beachport Surf Life Saving Club will be cooking a BBQ.

Council’s Director Development Services, Steve Chapple was happy to announce the events: “Council is excited to bring both these free events to our local communities.

These are great opportunities for families to experience and have fun together. Council is working collaboratively with various organisations to make more of these events possible,” he said.
