Green waste is collected fortnightly from the 240 litre bin with the green lid.
Green waste collection is available in the larger townships and where land size does not encourage residents to compost their green waste on their own properties. The areas for green waste collection are shown on the Waste Collection Zone Maps.
Everything that you put in your green waste bin goes to Van Schaiks Bio Gro at Wandilo for large scale composting. If a load is severely contaiminated with rubbish that cannot be composted, the entire load ends up in landfill.

A food waste bio-basket collection service is available for residents who have a green waste bin.
Residents have been provided with a plastic bio-basket and a roll of 150 bio-bags for the collection of organic food waste. The bio-bags are then disposed of into the green organics bin for ultimate disposal by composting at VanSchaiks Bio-Gro. Residents are provided with 150 bio-bags on an annual basis to 30th June and can purchase additional bio-bags. Rolls of bio-bags can be collected from all Council offices and selected Post Offices.
