The community of Rendelsham is being asked to contribute ideas about the future of its township through the Wattle Range Council ten year plan for the town.
"Council is working through a process of developing Ten Year Community Town plans for each of the townships within its boundaries" Director Development Services, Steve Chapple said.
"The Community Town Plans enable the community to drive their vision for each town and look at developing a strategic approach to projects and initiatives to be progressed over the ensuing ten years."
A plan has been completed for the township of Penola, with Coonawarra and Millicent currently in draft stages. The focus is now on the community of Rendelsham.
The next information gathering session will be on Tuesday, 7 March in the Rendelsham Community Hall. Hosted by the Rendelsham Sports and Progress Association and supported by Council staff, the community is invited to participate.
Running from 6 pm to 8.30 pm this initial meeting will help develop a Vision Statement for the township and to list and highlight what makes Rendelsham unique and what potential is available for the future.
Tables of people attending will examine subjects including assets and infrastructure needed for the township, marketing and promotional opportunities, including the use of social media, and what events or celebrations could be held to bring tourists and visitors to area.
There will also be the opportunity for those attending to provide their thoughts on social and community needs for the township for the next ten years.
The Rendelsham Sport and Progress Association will then work forward with the development of the ten year plan and present a finalised document to Council. Council will be able to consider the plan as part of their long term planning and budget strategies.
