The 2018 SA Youth Week has started, and there’s a full schedule of activities and events across the Wattle Range Council area.
Open to youth age 12 – 25 years, the theme this year is “Your Future, Your Way” and provides local youth with an array of things to do during the school holidays. Director Development Services, Steve Chapple says “We’re really pleased with the broad range of activities and events that’s been developed, but more importantly the support we’re getting from across the Wattle Range community”.
There are more than 20 individual activities and events being held during the week, ranging from cooking demonstrations with renown local chefs Melissa Armfield (Shearers Cook) and Kirby Shearing (Soul Project), through to scooter events, movies, geocaching workshops, fishing and surf clinics and an open day at the Noorla Yo-Long facility.
Steve Chapple went on to say “All the events and activities throughout the week are free, and are scheduled across various locations in Wattle Range Council, including Beachport, Penola and Millicent, with a lot of the events and activities not normally available in the district”.
To view the full programme of events and activities, go to the Wattle Range Council website at wattlerange.sa.gov.au/youthweek. To book your space for any of the activities and events, call Wattle Range Council on phone 8733 0900.
