Youth Development Foundation Grants

Maximum amount per application: $300 for representation within Australia and $600 for representation outside of Australia

Total amount available per Financial Year: $7,000

Applications can be made throughout the year but may be put on hold once funds are exhausted

Available to youth between the ages of 5 and 25 years

The Wattle Range Youth Development Foundation is established to provide financial assistance to youth within the Wattle Range Council area who have been selected from locally based community, educational and sporting organisations to participate in an officially accredited event at the state, state country, national or international level.

"Council is committed to supporting our youth to participate in events at a state, national and international level."

The financial assistance from Council may be in the form of a cash contribution towards the expenses involved in travelling to the event, accommodation, equipment and attendance at training.

The Council is pleased to offer a contribution to help offset some of the expenses associated with participating in the event. While it may not cover all costs, this support is intended to assist and encourage involvement.

Assistance of up to $200 for representation within Australia and $400 for representation outside of Australia is available.

To be eligible for the Youth Development Grant financial support, you must:

  • Be between the age of 5 and 25
  • Reside in the Wattle Range Council area
  • Have been selected to participate in an officially accredited/recognised state, national or international event.

Guidelines

  • Assistance of up to $200 for representation within Australia and $400 for representation outside of Australia is available
  • An official selection confirmation statement from the event administrator MUST be included with the application
  • Any approved financial assistance will be a contribution to help cover participation costs and not to cover all participation expenses.
  • The principal event must be an officially accredited/recognised state, national or international event in which the youth has been selected to compete.
  • A selection confirmation statement from the state, national or international events administrator must accompany this application.
  • Any other financial assistance provided to the youth from other sources must be declared on the application form.
  • Applications must be received by Council at least six weeks prior to the principal event. Council will not consider applications received after the principal event has taken place.

Please note that all applications for financial assistance are tabled at a public meeting of Council for consideration unless otherwise indicated by the selected youth, in which case the personal details will be excluded from publication in the Council meeting minutes.

How will my application be assessed?

The first stage is an eligibility check where Council staff will consider your application against the eligibility criteria. If the application meets all eligibility criteria it will proceed to the assessment stage where Council will evaluate how the applicant addresses the guidelines.
