Dredging at the Beachport Boat Ramp is planned to commence Monday, 31 August 2026 and will be the same program as undertaken in recent years.
The pre-dredging hydrographic survey work is scheduled to occur Monday, 31 August 2026. At the same time the dredge ‘Eva-K’ will commence its journey from Geelong.
Council expects to see assembly of the dredge taking place in the Beachport Boat Ramp carpark on Tuesday, 1 September. Dredging will commence later in the week and continue for at least 3 weeks (weather permitting).
Approx. 6000 cubic metres of sand is expected to be moved, with the aim being to provide clear access for small boats until after Easter 2027.
Ongoing sand buildup is a known feature of this marina and Council spends about $150,000 each year on dredging, to keep the marina operational.
