Season and Climate
The Limestone Coast’s Mediterranean climate of warm to hot, dry summers and cool winters enhance its appeal as a year-round holiday destination. The average maximum daily temperature during winter is 14°c and 30°c during summer.
In summer months, the coastal towns swell in population as visitors make the most of the stunning beaches and fresh seafood. Winter months are a popular time for the historic towns and the wine region is an all-year round favourite.
Autumn (March to May) is a great time to visit. There's plenty of sunshine and the weather is warm and pleasant. Daily autumn temperatures range from a minimum of 11.5°C to a maximum of 20°C.
The climate is generally cool to cold from May to October.
Economic activity is based on agriculture i.e. horticulture, viticulture, dairying and forestry and fishing, tourism is an emerging industry drawing visitors to the regions national parks, conservation parks, woodlands and coastal regions.
