The Millicent Library is inviting families, caregivers, grandparents and educators to attend the Early Years Expo on Tuesday 9 June, a free community event designed to connect families with the many services, programs and supports available for children aged 0–6 years.
The expo will bring together 16 local service providers from across the Limestone Coast, giving families the opportunity to meet with organisations, ask questions and learn about the programs, resources and support available locally.
Attendees can connect with a range of services including local kindergartens and early learning providers, Child and Family Health services, parenting and family support organisations, and community groups focused on children’s wellbeing and development.
Children can also join an interactive Learning Together playgroup session, with hands-on activities designed to support early learning through play, while parents connect with local services.
Council’s Libraries and Cultural Services Manager, Janice Nitschke said the event is designed to make it easier for families to access support in one place.
“We know how busy family life can be, so bringing a range of services together in one location makes it easier for parents and caregivers to find the support they need,” she said.
“It’s also a great opportunity for families to ask questions, meet local providers and feel more confident about the services available to support their child’s early years.”
The free event provides a welcoming space for families to connect with local services, enjoy free activities including sensory play, meet other parents and access trusted advice on early learning, health and wellbeing. No bookings are required, allowing families to drop in at a time that suits them.
Come along, ask questions, make connections, enjoy a complimentary morning tea, and discover the many ways our local community supports children and families in the early years.
