Wattle Range Council has engaged commercial real estate firm Colliers to manage an Expression of Interest (EOI) process for the former Millicent Saleyards precinct, seeking proposals that will help unlock the future potential of the site.

The 58.4-hectare site, located at 61 Saleyards Road and 11503 Southern Ports Highway, was formally closed as a stock transfer facility in March 2024.

Council CEO Ben Gower said the EOI process is an important step in identifying opportunities that can bring new investment, jobs and economic activity to Wattle Range.

"Council is inviting expressions of interest from businesses or organisations interested in buying, leasing, or partnering to develop all or part of the Millicent Saleyards EOI area for business, industrial, or other economic development opportunities," Mr Gower said.

"With its Strategic Employment zoning, the site presents a significant opportunity to support economic growth while making productive use of land that has played an important role in the region's history."

"While Council will be retaining the Waste Transfer Station and adjacent sheep yards and pens for potential future expansion, the remaining land including existing saleyards infrastructure, open paddocks, office building, sheds, truck wash, roadways and other assets provides a unique opportunity to attract investment and create new opportunities for Millicent and the wider region."

Interested parties are encouraged to contact Colliers - Tim Altschwager 0408 814 699 or Will Sumner 0488 942 111 for further information and submission of a proposal for the site. Expressions of Interest close on 3 December 2026.
