Have Your Say on Proposed Changes to Development Infrastructure Policy

Council is inviting community members to review the draft policy and provide feedback

Wattle Range Council is seeking community feedback on a revised policy that guides infrastructure requirements for new developments across the Council area.

The draft Development – Provision of Infrastructure Policy helps ensure a consistent approach to infrastructure associated with developments, including land divisions, roads, footpaths, drainage and vehicle crossovers. While many engineering requirements are already covered by state and national standards, the policy outlines specific local requirements to provide clarity and consistency for developers and landowners.

As part of the review, Council has worked to simplify the document by removing information that duplicates existing standards and focusing on matters directly related to the provision of infrastructure within the Wattle Range Council area.

The proposed changes include removing fencing requirements, updating road layout and drainage requirements, clarifying footpath requirements, and revising materials requirements for roadworks.

Council is inviting community members to review the draft policy and provide feedback before any changes are finalised.

Submissions marked "Draft Development – Provision of Infrastructure Policy" can be emailed to council@wattlerange.sa.gov.au, submitted through the online consultation page, posted to PO Box 27, Millicent SA 5280, or delivered to any Council office.

Feedback closes at 10am on Monday, 12 October 2026.
