As at 10 September, Council crews and contractors are delivering a range of maintenance activities, upgrades and community projects across Wattle Range. From road repairs and footpath improvements to playground upgrades and community facility projects, these works help keep our towns safe, connected and enjoyable places to live, work and visit.
Work schedules may change due to weather, operational priorities and community needs.
Road Works
- Repairing potholes and responding to increased service requests and community reports through the Antenno App.
- Planning is underway to remove kerbing around trees on George Street, Millicent, and replace it with ground-level concrete borders and gravel or soft-fall material. Works are expected to occur on weekends to minimise disruption from heavy weekday traffic, with advance notice to be provided.
- Preparing for the 2026/27 road resealing program. See Wattle Range Council Road Reseal Program.
- Repairing roads within the Southern Ocean Tourist Park.
- The Southern Ports Highway reconstruction works have recommenced and the detour is in place. Favourable weather conditions have helped keep the project on track, with a record 47 truck and trailer loads of material delivered to site in a single day in early September.
- Kerb maintenance and upgrades on Tenth Street, Millicent.
- Paving replacement and footpath upgrades in Railway Terrace, Beachport.
- Kerbing improvements on Lagoon Street, Beachport.

- Millicent Swimming Lake is being prepared for the season opening in November (concreting pads for new tables and benches, ground works, surface preparation and painting).
Four graders are currently working across the district repairing unsealed roads, undertaking scheduled grading and responding to service requests. Current grading and pothole repair works are focussed on Coonawarra and Maaoupe, Graneys Lane and Manga Road near Kalangadoo, Furner and Tantanoola areas.
