Community Continue to Shine at the Millicent Library and Gallery

Whether you're looking to learn something new, get creative or simply connect with others, there's plenty to enjoy at the Millicent Library and Gallery this September. A vibrant program of exhibitions, regular activities and Spring school holiday events offers something for every age and interest.

The Gallery is also continuing its diverse exhibition program. Following the outstanding SALA exhibition Elemental Forces, Gallery 2 is now presenting a refined selection of works from the exhibition, offering visitors another opportunity to enjoy and discover the works.

In the main gallery, UNFOLDING brings together South Australian artists Andrea Bartetzko, Ann Carpenter and Kirsten Johnston. Exploring the natural world, colour and form, the three artists embrace experimentation and new ways of seeing. The exhibition is now open, with visitors invited to meet the artists and hear about their creative journeys at an Artist Walk and Talk on Sunday, 20 September at 2pm.

Attention is also turning to the 2026 Wattle Range Photographic Exhibition, with entries now beginning to arrive. Council is inviting photographers of all ages and skill levels to capture the landscapes, people and places that make the Wattle Range region unique.

Following the successful introduction of separate Professional and Amateur awards in categories where the overall winner is a professional photographer, the initiative will continue in 2026, providing greater recognition for photographers at all levels of experience.

The Wattle Range Art Exhibition is also just around the corner with entries now open. Celebrating its 11th year, the exhibition continues to showcase the outstanding talent of artists from South Australia and beyond. From painting and sculpture to ceramics, photography, textiles and mixed media, the exhibition offers a diverse collection of contemporary artworks designed to inspire, challenge and delight. Visit www.wattlerange.sa.gov.au for key dates and more information
