Community event planning workshop to be held in Wattle Range

Published 15th July 2022
Wattle Range, Robe & Kingston community groups are invited to attend an evening session covering various aspects of event planning.

Do you have an idea for a community event? Want to find out more about how you can turn that idea into an event?

Wattle Range Council is hosting an Events Planning Workshop for community groups on Wednesday 27th July in the Millicent Civic & Arts Centre.

Emma Clay, Director Development Services says: “All clubs, community groups, food businesses, organisations and not-for-profits are invited to attend from across Wattle Range, Robe & Kingston District Councils.”

The free forum will give participants an insight into:

  • How to run an event with a case study from the Millicent Expo – taking an idea and making it a community event
  • Event toolkits with information about insurances, FBNs, special event permits, seed funding, recurring funding, and fundraising to create sustainable events
  • Inclusive events for people living with a disability
  • What our young people are up to? A look at the Planet Youth survey data

Presentations will include safety considerations for busy nights and events by Sergeant Jade Hill, Manager Crime Prevention Section, Limestone Coast SA Police and a major drawcard will be Ben Johns, Manager Liquor License & Gaming on successful venues and licensed events.

We look forward to welcoming you to the forum in a COVID safe manner. To assist with seating & catering please RSVP to Sarah Marzec, Community Development Officer, Wattle Range Council by Monday, July 25 either 8733 0900 or online at www.eventbrite.com.au/e/events-planning-workshop-for-community-groups-tickets-379437847817
