Rates notice printing error

Published 28th August 2023
First installment notices for this years' council rates have been printed with an error affecting Australia Post payments.

Ratepayers who receive their notices via post will soon receive an amended rates notice in their letterboxes. The initial 2023/24 rates notices were printed with the incorrect Australia Post barcode.

If you would normally pay your rates account at an Australia Post outlet and have not already paid, Council recommends that you discard the first notice and make your payment with the new notice when it arrives.

For those ratepayers that have already paid at an Australia Post outlet using the incorrect barcode, please contact Council to confirm that your payment has been processed correctly.

Ratepayers making payments via BPAY, online or at a Council office, your payments have been processed correctly and you are unaffected by the error.

Note: If you receive your notice via email, or have a direct debit arrangement in place, your notice will not be reissued.

The matter has been escalated with our printing contractors and their internal processes have been strengthened to avoid this issue in the future.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
