Due to the recent resignation of Councillor Moira Neagle, Council is required to hold a supplementary election to fill the casual vacancy for Corcoran Ward.

Council is working with the Electoral Commission of South Australia through the election process. The Commission will appoint a Deputy Returning Officer (DRO) to assist with conducting the election as well as Electoral Officers from Council staff to liaise on election matters.

The voters roll for this supplementary election will close at 5.00 pm on Wednesday, 20 December 2023.

You are entitled to vote in the election if you are enrolled on the State electoral roll for the council area.  If you have already turned 18 or changed your residential or postal address, you must complete an electoral enrolment form available online at www.ecsa.sa.gov.au.

If you are not eligible to enrol on the State electoral roll you may still be entitled to enrol to vote if you own or occupy property in the Council area.  Contact the Council or visit www.wattlerange.sa.gov.au/our-council/elections to find out how.

Nominations to fill the vacancy open on Thursday, 11 January 2024 and close at 12 noon on Thursday, 25 January 2024.

The election will be conducted entirely by post with the return of ballot material to reach the Returning Officer no later than 12 noon on Tuesday, 12 March 2024.

A briefing session for potential nominees will be held a date yet to be determined.  Interested persons will be asked to register for this session.
